- Solar Vision of Safety in an Ascension Decision Lifetime – this has depth, actually.
- Over-Sized Stuffers: 2016 – this guy is excellent. He’s a skilled writer and sounds like a great husband and dad, and after an entertaining prelude you get to learn a lot about hexaflexagons. I just think if you spend some time on this page it will make you feel better about life.
- The Lilac Lynx – a very special corner of the web, full of cuddly things and inspiration. I like that everything on here seems to have been made with a lot of care.
- turd – fantastic name, great photos, I like the “dump” aspect of it.
- He Sat In An Old Recliner – it’s poetic and well-organised. I like the look and the humour.
- musicapocalypse – this has a lovely spirit behind it and it’s funny seeing the early-2000s through this particular lens, re-imagined with tenderness by someone born in 2001.
- cubertown – this is obvs gorgeous. Just keep clicking and it will do something to you.
- funky town – (sadly on an extended hiatus but keeping this here in hope she will return) this girl has got the BEST TASTE in text games and seems like an all-around cool person. I like Culture Club too! And she’s good at making up jokes about lizards.
- Hamster Buddies – a compassionate and responsible guide to looking after hamsters. I’ve had a few hamsters in my life and I think they’re good pets, even though Jack has an irrational hatred of them.
- SUGAR: urban spirit worker – “I have always wanted to read/watch a slice of life story in a cyberpunk setting” that is the perfect and concise description of what I’ve always wanted too!
- A:EDLIN.COM – I find this very pretty and comforting. Weather, daily news. This post on the phrase "media consumption."
- Penny's Pages – a wiki for Neocities. I support it, I think. Now here
- chainsawEd – I like the name, like I think it means an education in chainsaw? Or that someone’s name is Chainsaw Ed which is also a cool name. Or someone got chainsawed. Or Chainsa got wed. Or wed to a chainsaw. In any case, “create more, consume less” seems to me a worthy enough goal. Have a poke around beyond the front page, you will be rewarded.
- trapped – nice photos. A bittersweet blog, updated almost daily with few- to one-word posts. I like the exhibitions concept in "glass". Overall it’s one of those minimalistic, well-designed websites that feel both mysterious and comforting.
- Elaboraet – it’s ambitious, which I like. I don’t know. It’s both serious and casual, experimental. It’s the kind of thing I would like to see more of, and that I’m aiming to engage more with online.
- Teenage Horror Factory – “The unofficial home page for the American International teenage monster movies of the 1950s (and the teen horror films from other movie studios”, sounds good to me.
- k7 – I mean, honestly? I understand very little of what is going on here, but I kind of feel like on Neocities these are my people.
- GOODMODE – I really like the two essays. Hope he’ll write more. Especially “Cause and Effect” is very Harvey Pekar-esque and touching.
- humanraccoon – Since originally linking to it this website and person have affected me in many intense, astringent ways. I can't let go. It's admirable, is what it is.
- Districts – my opinion: Neocities doesn’t work if we’re not finding and following each other’s websites, and Districts is one way to make that happen. The other ways I know of are worse, namely webrings and Neocities’ own search mechanisms, tags, most followed, last updated, etc. So, Districts should rock on. I’ve found a lot of cool stuff on there.
- Posters, Lobbies and Stills – just what it says. A collection of vintage movie posters, lobby cards and stills. It’s not super functional yet, but I like looking at it.
- jojo’s website – many good links. I particularly like the weird wikipedia page.
- free media alliance – yeah, lots of stuff about free culture. Holographic learning is interesting, thank you for including that.
- shelfdust – I don’t even know what to write that could do this justice. I love it.
- UP ALL NIGHT – infomercials and safety training videos. I find it inspiring.
- Robert ‘prino’ Prins – a record-breaking hitchhiker.
- Polyphiloprogenitivepanda – mainly lists, which I dig.
- incessantpain – I love the colours and presentation, the tabs way of presenting things and all that.
- Arkm's World - The writing is really spot-on if the intention was to sound like Andrew Plotkin-esque interactive fiction (which I think it was). It's fantastic. I feel like this website is what early web enthusiasts thought every website would one day be like, the place-ness, the exploration, the toy-ness of it.
- Shiitake Worsthand - This is what I, a current web enthusiast, think every website should one day be like. An intelligent minimalism, a well-ordered list of writings, threading the balance between ephemeral and preserved, including a separate, more blog-like desk section.
- 『ＥＹＥＳ ＯＮ ＴＨＥ ＬＥＮＳ』 - I intensely love this design and I can't really explain why, but I do. It feels dense, unfinished in an exciting way. The diary is so good! Hopefully there'll be more updates on that. It reads like a novel but better. Like a 21st-century, digital, Mexican, cooler Adrian Mole.
- Encounters LTD. - 1000% my kind of visual art. Also, I've noticed a bit of a trend of making up little backstories for who's behind a site, living in a bunker with an alien playing Monopoly, how WONDERFUL!
- the digital diarist - Lovely and kind. One think I've been paying more attention to lately is how well-designed so many of these sites are.
- Baldora Station - Read their about page! There seems to be some kind of elaborate storytelling going on here that I haven't quite fully grasped, but am impressed by.
- The Howling House - Weird I just mentioned Adrian Mole and now I saw this has a whole page on Adrian Mole! Really good use of hypertext and phenomenal vibe. All you guys are making me want to up my Neocities game considerably.
- Suzanne's Escape From Youth - I love that the central feature of this site seems to be an collage of Suzanne Somers and Leonard Cohen over a Doom background. VERY flip-phone punk.
- makz web - The HTML History Lessons are very well-made and I found them very interesting, I send them to anyone who tells me they're learning HTML.
- and now... - You click on the nice words and then you get a little thing that will tickle you.
- madison - Excellent character art and some great e-shrines.
- no need to argue - I don't know why I find this excruciatingly pretty.
- all things amazing - Part of my former online experience used to be made up of mindlessly browsing through those scrolling blogs of retro pictures/cool stuff like fffffound that seem so emblematic of the 2010s internet. This is the only one I still look at, mainly because it’s Russian, anonymous, and seems like some wormhole into a bottomless chest of discarded photographs.
- Arte Popular do Brasil - Sadly no longer updated. A really beautifully put-together blogspot about popular art in Brazil. The photos are incredible and there is a handy directory on the side for both artists by name and popularity.
- English Buildings - I haven’t really delved too much into this website but it is the closest thing to an Ian Nairn tribute act. Some of the links along the side aren’t bad either.
- Lyrical Brazil - Nice website that translates Brazilian songs with an accompanying well-researched write-ups about each one.
- The Sheila Variations - Good mix of films, music and poetry.
- Pithy Smithyisms - Everything Mark E Smith ever said during a Fall gig. From: ‘23 December 77 Stretford Civic Centre, Manchester: - "Right, 'Psycho Mafia'! Good evening, we are The Fall as in the ace of ones. John Tindall on his arse. You spit in the sky, it falls in your eye."
